Cardmaking is one of my favorite crafts to do. I gravitate toward the sarcastic, funny cards as opposed to the sweet, sentimental cards. Probably says alot about me… You might have seen my post on Sassy Christmas Cards. Those were so much fun to make that I thought I’d continue on to the next holiday. So today I’m making Sassy Valentine Cards! And as an added bonus, at the very end of this post I added a card I made last week just for fun. I hope it gives you a giggle…
In my Sassy Christmas Cards post I went into detail on the mechanics of making and coloring a stamped card so I won’t go into as much detail on these cards but if you’re new to card making you can see those details here.
I think every card maker has their favorite tools. Here are some tools I use on nearly every card I make. They’re tools I can’t live without:
- Sizzix Big Shot or if I am mass producing, my Sizzix Vagabond
- Spellbinder’s Nestabilities
- Scor-Pal (to score the fold in the card)
- Guillotine Paper Trimmer
- EK Craft Tweezers
- Zip Dry glue
I made three cards for this post. Each a little different, using some of my favorite stamped images.
Here’s the first one…
The first card I made was with a CC Designs stamp called “Cupig”.
The other supplies I used are:
- Riley and Company stamp
- Spellbinders Nestabilities: Heart Circles
- Stickles: Crystal
- Doodlebug Designs: Sweetheart cardstock
The little hearts at the top and bottom are just what was punched out of the Nestabilities heart die cut.
And the second…
The second card I made was a Whipper Snapper stamp called I “Toad”ally Love you
I used these products for this card:
- Nestabilities: Beaded Oval
- Jillibean Soup: Heart Healthy Red Bean cardstock
- Glossy Accents (for his balloon)
- Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Vintage Photo
Last but not least…
The last card I made was from a Whipper Snapper stamp called Lil Devil
The products I used were…
- Spellbinders Edgeabilities: Classic Petal
- Spellbinders Nestabilities: Standard Circle Small
- Riley and Company: I married Mr Right stamp
- 3″ Circle Punch
- Doodlebug Designs: Sweetheart cardstock
I hope you like my Sassy Valentine cards. Let me know if you have any questions on them.
And as promised, here is a bonus card just to make you giggle…
Happy tinkering,
Susan
